PLan Review Information

The purpose of a plan review is to verify that the structure, equipment, proposed menu and food handling are safe and in compliance with the food code. A well designed facility will have sanitation built in and assist in preventing foodborne illness.

If you are requesting a permit for the first time, you are encouraged to call 618-692-8954 before beginning the permit process and learn more from the County's Food Sanitation Ordinance.

If you are new to the food and beverage business, please review Madison County's guidelines on opening a business to sell food and/or beverages.

Remember to contact the Health Department early into your process, as we are here to assist in avoiding any unexpected pitfalls and help you navigate the food code for any situation.  We can be a great resource!
