Dear Madison County Resident:

The Madison County Recorder, Linda Andreas, welcomes you to our website.

The primary responsibility of the Recorder’s Office is to record, index and maintain all documents transferring land in Madison County. Our land record, which begins in 1812, establishes legal ownership to land and protects landholder’s rights. In addition to documents related to land such as deeds, mortgages, liens, trusts, and easements, we also record (DD-214) discharge documents for our veterans, as well as out of county birth certificates and marriage licenses. Because our record is more than 200 years old, there exists a wealth of information for historians and genealogists.
