District 17

Victor Valentine started serving on the County Board in 2019 after being appointed to replace an outgoing board member who resigned. Voters elected him in November 2020 and again in November 2022 to represent District 17 in Edwardsville.

Valentine serves on the Personnel and Labor Relations and Transportation committees. He also serves on the Park and Recreation Grant Commission, which oversees grants for the Park Enhancement Program throughout Madison County.

Victor is a Madison High School graduate and attended Illinois State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing/business administration.

Victor works as a teen reach coordinator with at-risk youth at the Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House in East St. Louis.

Following college, Victor moved to Edwardsville where he’s lived the past 34 years with his wife, Rhoda, and where they raised their four children.
