District 4

In 2020, Bobby Ross started serving residents as their County Board representative in District 4 in St. Jacob and the surrounding area. He was re-elected in November 2022.

His goals as a board member are to keep the county’s property taxes low and to be fiscally responsible. He believes in small government and accountability to the people.

A Madison County native, Bobby is a Triad High School graduate and attended Southwestern Illinois College for construction management.  For the past 20 years, he’s worked for his family’s construction company — Ross Excavating.

He moved to St. Jacob in 2004 and served two terms on the village board from 2012 to December 2020, where he also served as chair of various committees. He currently serves as the chair of the county’s Transportation Committee, as well as serves on Building and Zoning, Central Services and the Executive committees.

He is a member of the National Rifle Association, Highland Pistol and Rifle Club and a member of the board of directors for the Troy Titans Football Club.

Bobby and his wife, Dawn, are the parents of two boys and one Labradoodle.
