District 7

Voters elected Michael Turner to his first term in office in November 2022. He represents residents in District 7 in Godfrey.

Michael grew up in Grafton and graduated from Jersey Community High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served four years as a motor vehicle operator.

After leaving the Marines, he returned to Illinois, worked as a tractor-trailer driver, and attended college before obtaining a job with the Illinois Department of Transportation. He also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves until the start of COVID.

Michael’s civic interests include voter turnout, voter integrity, traffic safety, firearm safety and education. As a board member, Michael assisted in the passing of the county’s non-binding resolution against the assault weapons ban.

Michael serves on the Finance, Government Operations and Education, Personnel and Labor Relations and Transportation committees.

He enjoys conversations with constituents and believe people should be able to have honest conversations without getting angry.

Michael also enjoys spending time with his wife, Venessa, and their two sons.
